Have the TB now, should I get the Charge or...

Just as an update, Verizon called me regarding my email that complained about the TB and they said that they needed me to call tech support to do trouble shooting with my TB. She wouldn't switch me to a Charge.

I don't want to deal with tech support, because they will probably act like nothing is wrong or will just want to swap me with a new TB.

Anyone have any ideas on how to score a Charge from customer service without having to sell my TB and buy a Charge at full retail? Do I just keep complaining until they give in?

I didnt really have to beg at all. All I said was Ive been through 4 tbolts, all have had the same problems, I NEED a stable phone for work, What are you going to do about this, what other devices can you offer me... That type of stuff.

Stay cool but firm

i was offered either the charge or revolution tonight by a tech rep. i'm researching and will let them know by monday.

I'd say go with the charge. I've heard more good things about the charge than I have the revolution. New skin...first Gen software from a company that hasn't had much of an Android record...yikes! LG may be worthy, but I'm skeptical.

Hey guys and gals, here is my situation. My smartphone history is as follows....HTC Touch, HTC Droid Incredible, HTC Thunderbolt.

Let me start off by saying that I love HTC Sense. I think it's the best of the bunch. But since my Incredible, I have been using GoLauncher EX and Beautiful Widgets for my home screen clock/weather. So I'm really not "seeing" much of Sense.

With that being said, I'm open to changing to a different brand/UI.

Let me also say that I really do like the Thunderbolt. It looks good, it's super fast without lag and the browser is awesome. But I am starting to get frustrated with its cons. And I won't go into detail since most of you know about them (battery life, data connectivity issues, random reboots, etc.).

I am well past my 14 day return window as I've had my TB for a couple of months now. So if I change, I think I will have to just sell my TB and buy the Charge (or other phone) at full retail.

Do you think I should make the switch? Or do you think I should wait for the Bionic since that phones seems to have resurfaced and is looking good?

Please give me any input possible, I appreciate it!

I am within my 14 days with the thunderbolt and also considering changing for the charge.

I came from att and the htc inspire and I really wanted to love the thunderbolt, although I was skeptical about all the issues people were having. I do like the phone, but it has a lot of lagg and does not feel near as smooth as the inspire did. I know this sounds crazy, but I honestly think my inspire was much faster with data. And the battery is worse than any phone I have ever had....this really worries me when 4g hits my area this summer.

I have always favored htc over samsung, but am really nervous about getting stuck with the thunderbolt due to the problems. I know an update is supposed to go out in a few days to fix problems, but am afraid to gamble with it.

I think I am going to go to the verizon store today and play with the charge.

Looks like the fix for the bolt will be out soon.I flashed the leaked version of the update and so far no reboots. They also put in there an option for network mode to switch from LTE/cdma to CDMA only. So I hope this works as I was about to demand a charge as I felt they had long enough to fix it. Did samsung buy out HTC secretly? For as long as its taking to fix this issue just like the gps of the galaxy phones lol.

So now I can track my battery life again and see if its still 32 hrs on a charge.

I just downloaded the release - I am not rooted and this update popped up when i checked for new software.

How do I find the option for the network mode to switch from LTE/cdma? Is it in settings?

I have not noticed many changes as I just installed it, but I am going to watch my battery today and if it is not better, I am changing this phone for the droid charge.

It's under mobile network settings. Where you enable and disable mobile data.

If you got an update from checking update status. Then that's not the reboot fix update. I wouldn't install that one. Just do the one you downloaded. If you need any more help feel free to pm me. As this is in the charge section and might get upset that we talking bolt fixes.

I have 7 hrs on this charge so far and my matter still has over 90% left. So i am happy again.

I traded in my thunderbolt for the charge and am very happy. I think both phones have their pluses and minuses, but the charge is a better phone in my opinion. The battery is so much better! I think my thunderbolt went down a percent every time I swiped a screen - seriously. The update for the charge prompted on my phone as soon as it was turned on in the store.

Overall, I wish I would have gone with my first instinct and bought the charge instead of trying the thunderbolt first. For some reason, the reps in my local store ALL push the thunderbolt. I finally asked my sales lady if she was aware that the tb had so many problems and she said she did......why are they pushing the phone then? I hate to have to pay the restock fee (I was in my 14 day trial) but happy to have a better phone.

I would choose the charge over the thunderbolt!

Sorry I screwed up on the reply for question relating to DC cases.

To answer wizeguydezignz's question, I'm not sure selling your TB and buying the DC for the full price is the best choice. If you end up having to fork out another $200 just to make this happen, I'm not sure it's worth it. Maybe buying the 2750mAh extended battery would be the better way to go (although finding a case might be hard)? We have both TB and DC. Wife has the TB and I have played with it. Besides the TB battery life and screen (the DC Super AMOLED does very well in sunlight), there's some things better on the TB than DC like notification light, kickstand, 8GB internal memory, being able to talk/surf at the same time on 3G (both phones can do it on 4G; DC just can't do it on 3G b/c of the processor, I believe), and being able to Tango (although people at Tango knows there's the audio issue on DC; people on the other end can't hear like if you were muted).

There's not a perfect phone but I like DC better plus it's a bit lighter and better looking phone. But for the price difference, I might even wait for a duo-core phone down to the road if you can wait that long.

Just got the Charge and love it. Despite it being all plastic it has a very solid feel to it. That being said i kinda agree with the poster above.

If it's going to cost you 200 bucks to upgrade from a TB then your better off just buying an extended battery imo. But if money isn't a thing with you then the Charge is worth it.

I was abit skeptical because most reviews you will find on youtube ect talk about it's lack of power in benchmark this or that. However in real life i think it performs alot better than most 4g smart phones that are out there. It just all kind of mingles together nicely. Especially with Go Launcher EX and Xscope browser. The battery life is way better than the TB too.

After playing with both i really think this video nails it on a TB vs Charge. Talks about the TB having greater power ect but also talks about the Charge just working better and lasting longer overall in real life situations. Hope it helps.
