Looks like we have our first rom, it is not much but it is zipaligned and other little goodies to make stock faster, after trying twerp i am flashing this

I saw mention of a lot of bugs in twerp yet so I might wait for them to work things out first. I definitely think twerp is going to be the "amon ra" for this device after they get it worked out. I think things are a little rushed right now.

Also I think dc13 ot his tix working last night too.

Theses are exciting times!

I have not had any issues with TWRP as of yet. I flashed up Viper 1.1 and so far so good. Clears up a nice chunk of the RAM.

I can't wait for more complete ROMs to release (like Mik E3D)!

Anyone else experience random reboots with ViperROM RC1.1?

At various times during my use of the phone, the phone reboots itself. "HTC" .... "HTC - Quietly Brilliant". It's rather annoying. It is not provoked by a distinguishable action or activity.. it just happens randomly.

As a general question, if I want to flash to another ROM (I am a rookie at all of this) can I do so from a non-stock ROM? IE. I have ViperROM RC1.1 on my phone right now. Can i flash to MikROM without having to go back to stock ROM first? (and if so... where can I get the stock ROM? what a hassle it would be)

No need to go back to stock first like we had to do back in the Moment days, just wipe everything and flash. Easy as pie.

You can have Sense reset itself and get that HTC screen.

I wonder how many reboots are just that...

I've had Sense crash and do that on my non-rooted stock 3vo. Looks a lot like a normal reboot. The difference is that the Sprint boot animation doesn't kick up. That's an easier way of telling the difference.

Thank you guys for the feedback. This is what's happening (just HTC screen, no Sprint boot ani.), so now I know what's happening. This didn't happen to me before I rooted, so I was sure it was the ROM, but thanks for clearing it up.

Oh and also thanks for that tidbit on flashing ROMs.

RC1.2 + Netarchy's Test5 Kernel are working out great!

Just thought I'd mention that this Rom is now available with the ROM Manager app. Haven't tried it yet since I'm almost out of space on my 16gb card.

I'm currently on Viper 1.2 and am enjoying it much. Fast, simple, and good battery life. I'll probably check out some others once the ROMs mature a little more, but for now I'm more than happy.

No 4g with the hotspot! 3g only

So I flashed it even though I said I wouldn't flash a rom. Read too many good things about it, how could I not. Thought I was in boot loop for a while but it finally booted after about 5 min. Was surprised all my home screens were unchanged. Thought I did something wrong til I realized the Netflix icon was different. Got back most of the bloat I removed but whatever. Unlimited brower taps a nice add on. Gotta do some more digging. Anybody add the GB theme? How is it?

Edit: Was about to flash GB theme, nice new power down options, don't need em though since I have switchpro widget. Will probably use hibernate a lot though.

Couple more things about this rom (could be the GB theme as I flashed it right after I flashed the rom so not sure)

No 4G toggle in quick settings drop down (pretty sure that's a GB theme issue)
I haven't been able to move apps to my SD card using settings-SD & phone storage-make more space, then choosing the apps. I get a message stating there's no room & I have a lil more than 3GB on my card. Had to move apps using TB.

Other than that, no problems to report.

Edit, removes the FM radios (HTC & Sprint), which I actually do use. It appeared that you could restore with TB but it's been about 2 hrs since I tried to & nothing. I know it's minor as there are probably radio apps in market. Any good ones?

Getjar Gold currently has the TuneIn Radio Pro for free. I've used the lite version, and it worked pretty well.

RC2 is up.
