Delay before it turns on after pressing power button?

Anyone else notice this? Basically when I press the power key there is a slight lag before the screen lights up, is this a setting somewhere?

This was also a little problem on the original SGS2, they say it's because the processor powers down when the screen goes off and it takes it a little long to power back up. So you can't stop it from doing this.

I have yet to see the phone in my area yet, but I have noticed on YouTube reviews that some people have said there is a lag when powering up from sleep. This is the first correlation with an sd card though.

Then why do we shell out our hard earned cash on these dual core 1Ghz+ processors?!

Have faith MAYBE Samsung will put out software update to fix a few of the bugs.

The funny thing is, the phone does not exhibit this lag at all when there is no SD card installed. On every handset I've tried the 1-2 second lag between pressing the power button and the screen coming alive is only present when an SD card is inserted. Indeed when the SD card is removed the phone will always wakeup from power press to screen illumination in well under one second- a split second!

To me this completely debunks all of the CPU undervolting theories that attempt to explain this wakeup lag. It could however have to do with power (or lack thereof) being supplied to the SD card upon sleep.

In any case this specific lag issue really is hogwash when you consider my LG Optimus S was engineered to have equal battery life to this phone and it always woke up instantly, even with an SD card installed.
