Root CM7 Random Issue Thread

I know I have "Camera version 1" and "Camera version 2.3.5" The 2.3.5 is the one in the system>apps folder. And when I take a pic, when I had the shutter sound on, it would always sound like it was 2 shutter sounds at once but always took 1 pic. Ive always have had 2 in the app manager with every build. Might delete the version 1 and see what happens. If anything just restore my back up.

I could be wrong (and probably am) but I thought one of those camera apps listed in TIBU was actually the Gallery....

My ascend wont boot up all it does is go past the huawei logo then come to a red screen with an android on the bottom left corner and says ascend m860 on the bottom right corner. Can anyone help?! :cool:

My ascend will not boot up!/: All it does is start up then goes pasts the huawei logo then comes to a red screen that has an android on the bottom left corner and says ascend m860 on the bottom right corner. No matter how long i stay on it the phone will not boot up! My phone is rooted and has rom manager

Well, sounds like you need to either reflash your ROM with a fresh download of it, or try a lazy Ascend version of the ROM you wish to try.
BTW, sometimes when I get hung up on a start-up screen, holding the power button for a few seconds then waiting a minute gets it going again. Sometimes.

Either reflash it with a fresh download of the ROM, or try a lazy Ascend version of the ROM.

Thats what I am using right now, how can I tell If I have my SD partitioned properly?

Are you flashing with ROM Manager? I usually have issues with it, it's more of a hindrance to me than a help. Some folks it works awesomely for, some it doesn't. I'm thinking there's something about a lazy Ascend it doesn't like, but who knows. Try installing it manually just using CWM the way Tokepoke says to in his Ultimate Ascend Customization Guide in the All Things Root subforum.
As far as your card goes, one way is to get your phone up and running, and install A2SDGUI from the market. Excellent a2sd app. To see what's up just using your computer and a card reader, you can use MiniTool Partition Wizard to see and adjust your partition.

make sure you make a folder on your desktop and transfer all your sd card contents to your computer in that new folder, next boot into recovery and you can format and partition your sd card threw there, using 512 and 32 for swap.

I just installed CM7 on my Huawei Ascend. I followed the directions of someone else who was successful doing it on youtube. However, I can not download anything to me phone now. I don't have marketplace and I can't download directly from the internet. I see after reading the forums a little that I was supposed to have gapps also, but of course the guy on youtube didn't mention that. Does that have anything to do with my problem? How can I fix my issue? I am very new to customizing my android and would appreciate any help. Thanks!

Go to recovery and wipe the dalvic cache and that stuff. Worked for me.

With out the gapps, you get no Market or anything you need to use the market.

Download this, reboot into recovery, flash it ( you dont have to wipe or format anything) and then reboot.

If you are going to use Mini Tool be sure you are partitioning your SD card and not your hard drive.

ever since i flash Metro Stock Recovery, & flash PG's 912 i got USB conn working, alarm clock, even my assign custom ringtones work as well, i read somewhere here to erase all my contacts retype them in again into the phone instead of Google, or restoring them from my SD card.

I am trying to download all the files for installing the cyanogen 7, gapps but the download stops. I am using dolphin browser on my phone. Is there another way. I want to do everything on my phone.

if your going to do it that way i suggest that u make sure on wifi like next to it tho because if the connect is weak it will stop.... but u should just do it on a computer tho way faster... and also i had use the stock browser when i downloaded a whole movie and etc.(large files)

I dont know if you can download from MediaFire from Dolphin (You cant on Opera) if you cant then use your stock. But anyways try this gapps-gb-20110828-signed 7.2.zip
