[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

well thats just it jkc this would be the OTA, the real version for verizon, so basically you want the ROMs to have the official OTA from verizon as a base instead of a leaked OTA... then it will include everything and you wouldnt have to reflash the radios/bootloader

I already flashed the boot loader and radios. My questions is, what's different (other than the obvious add-ons in AOKP or other AOSP-based custom ROMs) between:

- AOKP M5 (or another AOSP 4.0.4 based ROM) + manual flash of boot loader and radios
- Verizon OTA

Are there binary-only components that AOKP doesn't include? (again, besides the radio and bootloader and the kernel obviously is different)? I'm just wondering if the OTA would fix bugs that were not already fixed in the 4.0.4 AOSP source.

Why don't you flash it and see? Let us know what you think ;)

If it's not one glitch, it's another.

I had my phone on vibrate today while I was in a meeting and sure enough, my audible notification went off.

I checked to see that I had received an email (gmail). So now, even if my phone is on vibrate or silent, I still get audible gmail notifications.

It only happens with gmail.

Can anyone tell me what's going on with gmail in these new gapps?

It works as designed on mine. No notification noise when set to vibrate only.

I did notice Gmail did not load in the latest gapps. I had to google play it to my phone.

Don't know :dontknow:

Have you tried using quiet hours? Have you made sure your putting it on vibrate only...not vibrate+sound. There is a setting somewhere, I think settings> sound....

OK.. I think I got it.

There's a new setting under sound, then under volume...it says "link mute states". Apparently that has to be checked so that all apps mute/silence/vibrate at the same time.

This is a completely new menu under settings. I've never seen it before. Is it new to 4.04 or AOKP?

Its been around since a few builds ago I can't remember exactly when it was implemented.

So does that solve it for you? Awesome if so. :)

I upgraded to M5 with the Totally Inverted Apps linked on the OP, and all is swell.

I also added the RUJELUS22 Dropbox, Twitter, and Google Docs/Drive. I haven't used them a lot, but they were working fine the little I did.

Nice to have a few more things inverted. Now if someone could invert Chrome or the stock browser.... (I don't have the skills or the time to lean the skills to do so myself :-| )

Wheres my GPS icon in the notification bar? Every other icon shows up when enabled, wifi, 3g/46/, Bluthooth,Wifi-A, but no GPS..
The GPS works when the notification bar is swiped down and the GPS enabled to ON. It even shows up in the location settings, just no icon up top....Until.....I launch Google Maps or Navigation, then the Icon appears, top left. I like to know when its on, even if Im not using a nav program. The GPS appears to be working normally.
Any ideas?

Love this rom, waiting a week or so for the devs to see whats up with the partial leaked beta 4.0.4 from VZW

AOPK toro builkd mod 34
Kernal: 3.0.24-tuna-fauz123-014+
radios eko5/eko2

Thanks
