VK Rom - V4.8 XWLPD

Once you press power off and reboot you get extra options

OK... I give up skimminstones! How do I add Screenshot and Recovery to the Power Button menu then? :hmmmm2:

when you press restart, you will get a popup menu for
reboot
hot boot
download
recovery

there is no way for screenshot in this menu however

Cheers old boy... should have gone to Specsavers! :shot:

That's halfway there. Will put a request in for the screenshot ability... so much easier, for me, than the Home+Power. ;)

No. As stated i was on Andyx 12.1. Took your advises for wiping, only i didn`t pass trough stock ICS.
I solved the YouTube, took it out from Andy`s rom and replace it in the VK rom. Works like a charm.
Still keeping an eye on Apex.

I always think it best to do a Full Wipe, a la Hawker, so that at least you know that there is no detritus from a previous ROM to cause problems. I even do it if I'm updating the same ROM.

Strange about YouTube, Just, "one of those things", that add to the joy of flashing. Glad you got it sorted.

Just flashed the mod from here which gets rid of the smiley faces on the volume sliders in settings and also gives you the ICS icons for Camera, Clock, Settings, Music Player and Browser.

Got the wiping exactly "a la Hawker", without formatting the internal SD.
But like you said " one of those things"......
Thanks for the link, i was looking for something like that and if you find how to adjust the translucency will be great. Is really difficult to use a bright wallpaper and look trough your contacts list, can`t see anything. I prefer the background black.

I'm generally really happy with this ROM. Just noticed an issue i'm having with the flashlight though.

The link in the notification bar works fine. But when the screen times out, the flashlight turns itself off too. Does anyone else have this issue, or know of a fix?

Same here, but i had the same issue even on AndyX ROM. So i think it is in ICS code. I use Flashlight app when needed.

Ironass, how did you flash this mod, I've downloaded it but I'm hesitant to continue in case I make a balls of it!

Hello my friends!

Nice to hear you're using ICS. Looking forward to give it a try. Now I have Checkrom V6 with Siyah 2.6.14.

I want to make sure I do it properly. Please, let me know if these steps are correct:

1) Download ICS LPD 4.8.
2) Copy it to SD card.
3) Reboot in Recovery.
4) Full Wipe (GS2Nuke Script 1.1)
5) Install from SD card.
6) Ready.

When I do this I will lose all my installed programs. Is that OK?

What should I do besides this or what am I forgetting?

Thanks in advance for you help!

If you are coming from CheckROM v6, Gingerbread, I would recommend installing a stock ICS ROM before flasjhing a custom ROM. See here.

Thanks for your advice but What would happen if I were directly to Custom?

And, please, let me know the steps I should follow to install a Stock ICS. I am a bit confused now and don't know where to get it and how to install it. I will appreciate your help.

Thank you!

version 5.0 is about to be released. Main changes seem to be based around XWLPF and adding support for jkay

I cant decide between this and neatrom. Keep swapping between the two with each new release. Sometimes im in a stock looking mood, others in a good themed mood. Only difference ive found so far is a very slightly better battery using vk but not by much.

just installed V5.0

As lovely and smooth as ever. Everything seems to be working fine once again.

My only quibble is i dont really like being almost forced into buying the jkay app. I know its not much money and i know the rom works fine without it but having the jkay settings menu and not able to use part of my phone without buying that app is bugging me. It should be my choice to install it, not anyone elses.

Its a small point but very possibly one thats going to make me not keep this rom anymore.
