Root What Kind of ROM Work Would You Like To See Next

Indeed. Since my Nexus has more developer attention paid to it than the only girl at a nude beach. I have been yearning for something to work on. Admn81 contacted me a while ago and yes, I am interested in mixing together a working ICS rom for you guys. Doesn't look like AOSP is a go until we get more source from LG but hey, the specs of the Spectrum demand ICS. I have already gotten a hold of some of my buddies to work on getting a more stable recovery.

Unfortunately I do not own a Spectrum which makes it next to impossible to do anything other than scripting and theming. If we can get a few people to pitch in a few dollars I am sure we can be there in no time. I have made a ChipIn account to track this fundraiser so I can get a used one off eBay or AF

this needs to be made into it's own thread because I think a lot of people may be missing the donation link because it's stuck on page 4. That is why I'm quoting it so it will be moved to the latest page. But it really needs to be its own thread.

I tired CM on the Captivate few months back, was to buggy imo..

was it teamhacksung doing it? i know cm9 came a long way in the past couple months on the fascinate,,,, i havent ran into any bugs with the latest builds with the stock cm9 kernel....

most of the bugs are due to low memory and a small /data partition... plus samsung turned their back on sgs users wanting ics because of how much of a resource hog touchwiz is...

we shouldnt have as many problems with our hardware.. as long as devs can get the roms built right..

you should just sticky a donation thread... and keep track of what everyone has got going on... keep the OP updated when a new dev needs a device or when they receive it.... maybe you could have links to everything we have avaliabe on there as well... especially since our "all things root guide" hasnt been updated in over 2 and a half months

it would help the devs n00bs and the rest of us quite a bit.... i would do it but im not that good with stuff like that

Good idea IMU, I will start another donation thread. As far as the All Things Root Guide, I wil pm a mod to see if I can monitor that as it would be less work for them and more accurate for us.

OK - I am going to put in $40 now...
Still waiting to see what the $50 I put in on D2A yields...I am hopeful something great also!

Still use my ALLY with Velocity as a BT media server to my home system - great little use for a great little unit...it just sits on my bar, in the basement in its little charging dock. When I go down there, I have my email, Google and remote control media server - thanks Savoxis for making Velocity for the ALLY - got me into custom roms etc. Donated $40!

for those wondering d2a is working on cm9. for those of you who have donated and feel like it has yielded nothing just be patient as the development in process will be killer when it's completed :)

I would like to personally thank everyone who contributed to the ChipIn fund. Last night I reached my goal and purchased a used Spectrum this morning. In the next week it should arrive and I plan on working with D2A to get some ICS as soon as possible :)

Thanks for taking the time to thank all of us that chipped in - you have class. Was wondering if there was a way to try to build a ROM with jelly bean vs. ics? The Galaxy Nexus is running jelly bean for some - maybe the code is available? They say its awesome...

The other surprise we have in store in a different recovery...AmonRa built by GetItNowMarketing. I will post a link later tonight for those of you who are curious.

I used amonRa on my HTC Evo and loved it, it would be nice to see it on the spectrum, especially if it fixes the 1970 date issue on nandroid backups
