Root new boost phone?

Its not really a high end phone. True it has 1gb internal memory... but that's not all that. It has a 3mp camera and a single core 1ghz processor is not that much either. 1ghz snapdragons have been around forever! The screen size is small.

The one thing going for it is the fact that it is water proof and I must admit I'm seriously rethinking my current phone. I have a Evo 4g with GB doing wonders on Boost but I might be tempted to get the Hydro once it hits the shelves. Hopefully Kyocera has a good implementation of Android not something like the Warp. Freezing and error prone.

Here's to hoping! :smokingsomb:

Pretty sure the article said 2gb of internal. May be wrong though. Also., the 1GHz Snapdragons has been around for a while but it is still a good processor. I think it's a pretty good deal for $130. If you're around water, it being waterproof is gonna be hard to beat.
The camera sux but hey, it's a $130.

Edit: yeah, I looked again and it has 2gb of internal and a 2gb sd.

Definitely worth the money, only major differences from prevail, STOCK ics (nice to see a TRUE stock ics phone other than the nexus), flash, and 2gb of internal. I recently upgraded to the HTC Evo Design 4g (for Boost, 300$ phone. 4gb internal, 756 mb of ram, 5mp rear camera. 1.3mp front facing camera, 4g obviously. (which i can actually use where i live) longer screen :). no good Roms yet tho... currently "desensed" so pretty much stock ICS :). (came stock with 4.0.3) pretty decent battery life too.)

I am going to get one and strap it to a dolphins head, and stream the video to the internet.

I may need some help catching the dolphin, if anyone wants to help

Lol. I've got a friend that needs this phone. Every time she gets around a body of water her phone always seems to end up in it.

These are the only kind of dolphins that I wanna catch.:p

I was considering this phone. (The hydro)

I mean the prevail is amazing and has some very stable and amazing roms...

But one rom because to hardware and other limitations has always been not exactly what i was looking for in the prevail. ICS

Now there a phone which is basically at least to me the prevail 2.0 with ICS.

I'm a bit skeptic about upgrading though since well the phone looks nice in all the hand on videos before boost bloatwares the crap out of it :/

I guess I'll just have to wait and see if there a huge community for it, since if root could be found for it and the bloat ware removed I'd love to move to it.

Thats it. Ive found my next phone. The Epic 4g will be mine on day 1. Now thats a phone Id have no problem paying $299-$350 for.

Yeah I'm looking forward to the Hydro as well. Though if Boost does get the Epic 4g....It's definitely the phone I've been waiting on to upgrade to. Might even end up with them both. Glad to see they finally are getting phones that would actually make me consider switching from the Prevail. Still would love to see CM10. You never know the ZTE Blade has it....

The iphone is supposed to hit Boost/Virgin around September and I saw another article that 3 Sprint phones are coming to Boost (sorry I didn't save link).

One of the new Boost phones is supposed to be the Galaxy S2, which depending on price will make me finally leave my trusty Prevail.

edit: the specs on the new Boost phones were supposed to be unchanged and same as original Sprint variations.

Here's the link that Monster posted over in our section about the S2.

Sprint sending Samsung Epic 4G Touch over to Boost Mobile

Great day in the morning!!! 8MP camera!!!!!! :D:D:rock::thrasher:

Too little too late I already moved on from the SII to SIII on Boost.

The camera on the SII is unbelievable when you compare it to any past or current Boost offerings. You can shoot full 1080p videos and not have any zoom features or you can shoot 720p and have up to 4x zoom.

For the SII I would suggest heading over to XDA and looking up Blazer Rom. I'd still suggest sticking with GB version atm though since any ICS builds still have bugs even the stock ICS.
