Root HTC Hero possibly bricked?

I bought an HTC Hero on ebay, brand new and unlocked.
It had android 2.1 and latest firmware, but I wanted to try out the cyanogenmod 7.2, so I started rooting and downgrading and all that... I gave up :| so I decided to restore the phone with the ruu it once had (the one it brought when I bought it) I was told that it was the HTC Hero Sprint 2.1 one, so I downloaded it and when I was installing it, right when it was about to finish ERROR[110]: FILE OPEN ERROR comes up and the phone turns off.

Holding the power button won't turn it on.
Holding the Home+Power button won't do anything.
Holding the Home+Back+Power button won't do anything.
Holding the volume down key + Power button does nothing.
Connecting the phone to the PC won't do anything, once it is, the charger light will not come up.
It vibrated 5 times when I held the Home+Power button for the 1st time, it didn't do it again. Removing the battery for xx amount of time does nothing.
Tried all the above with and without the sdcard.

I was told to try and reinstall the ruu, but I cant try since the phone wont turn on, the installation doesn't not continue if the phone is on and connected. The phone is brand new, It doesnt have 3 weeks of the box.. my dad is going to beat the sh** outta me :C

I need help please.

Is it possible to install a ruu without turning on the phone?
What are my options?

When bought it had Android 2.1 latest firmware.
I downgraded it to Android 1.5 with the
RUU_Hero_T-Mobile_UK_2.73.110.26_release_signed_NoDriver found in XDA-developers website.
Wasn't impressed so I installed the RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.66_WWE_test_signed_NoDri ver
found in the XDA-Developers website.
Then I gave up and wanted my phone back to normal. So I downloaded and ran the HTC Hero 2.1 ruu found in the htc site... which was the one that screwed my phone -.- I think...

Help :C
