what is sooo good about sprint anyway?

That's because maybe the coverage is there but sprint is still rolling out lte there which means dropoffs and ect. And I'm in Chicago sprint lte is killing att and vzw at only 75% complete I think the tx states is about 50%

Yup, here's a speed test I ran the other day in downtown Oak Park just west of Chicago city limits. The areas that have LTE are pretty damn fast, but like I said before there are still some holes in the 'burbs and downtown Chicago where it drops off. Hopefully by Summer LTE will be rockin' hard in Chi-town.

So have some patience everybody, it's gonna get better soon!:)

For a while they offered the cheapest contact pricing out of the top 3, now they just offer unlimited / bogged down data.

I suppose the best thing about sprint is that you can get locked in now and in 4 years when your market gets 4g,you can have unlimited data plan

Return of the Android

Sorry you feel that way.

For a very cheap price I get the top of the line android devices with plenty of speed for my needs

& I don't have to deal with big reds questionable policies

I'd rather take my chances with Sprint than pay extra for Verizon or At&t services. Sprint is still cheaper than those two carrier's.

This has been said several times, but it all depends where you live or work. If you live or work in an area of the country where Sprint's (or any other carrier's) service is simply unacceptable then you should find another carrier and hopefully it will work out for you.

Sprint is rolling out a new network and there will be some growing pains ( I certainly went through it) for their customers. But with all the moves Sprint has made this year to make itself into a stronger company, I think things will be looking quite good in 2013.

OK well u know Robert then bro lol. And he and Paul informed me on the Chicago late thread that we are about 75% and I did a lil googling and research. you all will catch up soon enough y'all NYC u know lol

Maybe I'm just slow and am reading old data. I'm just not supposed to talk about it. It's very possible since many of the other read outs don't get updated very often. That could be one of them. Either way, that's great stuff and I'm jonesing to try it out here.

I been having constant 4G signal in the NYC/Westchester area since yesterday. Maybe an early Christmas gift from Sprint.

That area has been blanketed for quite some time now. From what I saw earlier today, coverage is expanding over the Triboro (eff calling it RFK) Bridge into Astoria.

Correction 50% lte 75% network vision. Apologies NY

I knew I wasn't completely crazy!

Sensorly confirms what I already know. Signal is crap where I live and where I work. LTE hasn't officially launched but sometimes I get a signal in random places in Oakland. Today at work I can't even rely on voice.

So, I'm happy for my home town of Chicago (which is where I first became a Sprint customer in 1999). And, I know the pain of the other people languishing in areas where Sprint is dropping the ball...

LOL! It's not anti-Sprint. It's simply reporting the truth about service where I live. And I'll keep sharing it until/if anything improves. I think people in the Bay Area should be aware of the service here right now before making the choice of signing on with Sprint.

Promises of a great tomorrow are just that, promises. The rest of us have to live in the present. I'm very happy for areas where things are extremely good. I just want people to remember that there are some very major areas where there are still big gaps in service. Sprint's advertising is often misleading and so are their promises...

I had terrible speeds in my hometown over the summer... 25kb/sec

I just came back from holiday break and am pulling 1.5mb/sec down. Calling them and reporting issues works

Congratulations.

I've called many times with no improvement. Finally, the last time a supervisor told me that it would be six months to a year before we'll see substantial improvenent here. At least he didn't sugar coat or lie to me.

Pretty sure those guys ("supervisor") don't know squat.

They really don't lol

Thats for sure! And, considering how many sites are upgraded to Network Vision in the SanFran market every week, it further proves your point! S4GRU sources confirmed over 600 Network Vision site upgrades last week alone!

Sprint just cancelled my family plan cause i rooted my evo and used wifi teather.. given sprint didn't know that, they just seen my data jump to 150gB a month for 3 months and made assumptions.. what it was is netflix :-D i would just stream movies all day while i did homework... I payed for unlimited data and wasn't using 5gB in the beginning but then Sprint decided THEY wanted new charges of $10/phone saying "well, you have a smart phone so we want more money".. i had 4 phones on my plan so $40 in new charges for being a regular user.. so i rooted and got my moneys worth out of it :) So they are not "truly unlimited data" that's just non-sense gimmicks to sucker customers... if you don't believe me, test me.. don't teather your phone just stream netflix as much as possible (6+ hours/day) .. they'll cancel your service too... I'm actually glad to get away from sprint cause they never have the cool phones.. no LTE service (except Texas) even though they sell LTE phones.. so your buying LTE phones that can only use 3g :-( it's like buying a race car with no tires (waste of money)... And while i'm at it, whats the point of LTE if you cant use it?? ..."you can download faster, stream faster, everything faster but [small print] you can only stream 1 movie a month"... again, it's like having the race car but can't leave the drive way... limits, limits, limits

I'm assuming you mean "hotspot" tethering, correct? And in that case, what you're saying is that, you weren't paying the $29 per month to add hotspot tether, but you were using that when you were streaming the 150gb per month of Netflix?
