Unlocked bootload and CM10

I'll take any ICS kernels that you can hand to me. GB kernels will not work as far as I know unless they were built on the linux 3.0+ kernel.

Here is EGwolfs kernel based off the LG Lucid stock. He got it to compile on 4.4.0 but not 4.4.7 I think it was.
This is a Linux 3.0 kernel. I'm gonna try and get my environment up and running tonight so I can compile a ICS Rom for our connects.

Is your kernel on github up to date?

Edit: forgot to add link xD

thanks for the help everyone!
it turns out that when your working with a laptop that is less powerful than your phone and no patience, you dont figure out to let it sit and install until you forget it was running in the first place for an hour....

ill be rooting and installing cwm and testing out these kernals tonight tho!

Just to be sure, do i need to flash the beta rom and kernal before the cm10 rom and kernal?

No. The latest one posted is the Rom itself. Try it! :3

This is built from the connect source code. Let me know how this works or if it even boots.

it does not boot.

this probably means nothing, but I tried to build using the iproj source you mentioned. I couldn't get it to boot, but while looking through the configuration, under board settings the display selected was some sort of HD display driver, there was another option some sharp wvga screen was available.

then under another section (something about graphics drivers i think), the lcd driver had none selected as the option which may explain lge.lcd=null. then again I dont understand building kernels very well so this could be completly useless

What config did you try using? The Spectrums is spectrum_defconfig , not the i_vzw_defconfig.

i tried using the one i pulled from the ICS version for the lucid, from what I could see it looked like it was erroring out when compiling stuff for the i_vzw_board_panel.c and other various i_vzw_board_XXX.c
You can't use the lucid config file because the source I have doesn't support the LCD panel you have. Merging in the drivers does not seem to work either as it will compile, but not boot. And correct, you can't mix and match kernel versions.

Im prolly way out of my league when it comes to kernal compiling. Haha
Not really. I went from only basic linux knowledge, to android compiling over the course of a year of digging and reading. It does get easier once you get your first work space set up. After that, it's just a matter of being able to read error logs and figuring out how to fix them.
