Disappointed in Sprints speeds in your area?

Yeah, I know. It's just that I feel like I've been waiting forever lol. It won't be coming to where I live for some time, but I'd be satisfied once it is consistent by my office in Manhattan.

Well believe me, I share your pain for you and others who are wating for NV to finish rolling out in your area. We went through the same thing in our neck of the woods. :)

To be honest, I'm just being a pain in the ass. I have no real usage for it. I'm always on WiFi wherever I go. I have 75/25 at work, 25/10 at home, plus free WiFi at various locations that I frequent.

I guess I just would rather know that it would be an (fully functioning) option for me if push ever came to shove.

Although I have hardly anything to complain about. I am vexed at the wildly different speeds I get.

Both of these were taken a couple days apart but only a within a mile of each other.

Top reading taken at 1am on a Thursday when few users are on the tower. Bottom reading in the middle of the day on a Saturday. That's probably a key part of why the readys vary so widely.

I would call Sprint CS and see what the deal is. I was dealing with those same speeds during last Summers NV rollout here in the Chicago area and it drove me nuts.

Called CS a bunch of times to complain and they gave me a $30.00 credit each time. You shouldn't have to deal with subpar service like that.

Hmm, what do I have to say to get that $30 credit? I've called and called and my speeds are just as bad as the poster to whom you were responding and they never have even mentioned a credit. In fact when I've suggested that I deserve one, they say that they aren't giving credits for slow data speeds.

I've been languishing in crappy speeds at work for the past year and it's still going on even though they are allegedly "upgrading" the towers in our area. Please let me know how I can get this credit. I definitely deserve it.

Dude youre getting screwed. Have you complained?
I've complained. Keep getting told it'll improve with NV.

Plus, is your 3G radio working? Does it do that everywhere?

Agree with AD, absolutely.

That's terrible! :(
Radios work. 3G has been abysmal since circa Motorola Photon. Philadelphia PA 3G signal has degraded to useless and has been this way for about a yr.

Sounds more like a defective Epic Touch to me.

Or -

Lock the Speedtest to the same server. Different servers provide wildly different results, a reason to take Speedtest with a grain of salt.
oops on that sorry

Keep in mind the newer phones also have the ability to run on the new 3g network.

the old 3g network should also be seeing upgrades as well but most likely this is what he is seeing. ehrpd or whatever it was vs standard cdma

I stopped testing it back before I gave up the evo lte because is wasn't live yet.

now that more and more lte AND 3g enhancements are showing complete users are going to see stuff like this.

This is something I repeatedly point out as being missed by media and even advertising opportunity...

Network Vision is
3g upgrades
Backhaul upgrades
LTE
and they are even upgrading the 1x Voice equipment.

Well ask for a credit. They're not going to offer you one if you don't ask.

If you want to get bold, if the CS doesn't give you a credit, even when you ask. Tell the CS you want to be transferred to the retention department because you are very unhappy with your service.

OK, I did that and I was VERY nice. They still told me that they aren't giving credits for bad speeds. They admit there is a problem, sure. But they won't give me a credit, no matter how high I go in retention.

I don't know what you did, but I wish I knew your secret.

I had my first bad experience in a Sprint store yesterday. I'm almost certain the woman who treated me oh so poorly will be terminated. I also got a $100 credit for the inconvenience, plus two towers in my town going down.

It depends which one you go to. I've had some really bad experiences in the corporate stores.

One of the few positive experiences was when I was having an issue texting messages and I went to a Sprint kiosk at a local mall and they quickly and professionally solved the issue.

So it all depends where you go. I've been pleasantly surprised with BB mobile also. Very attentive and have always solved whatever problems I've had with my S3.

Well I really don't know what to tell you. I don't have a strategy or a secret handshake or password that enables me to get any credits on my bill lol. Instead of calling I always do the online chat thing with CS. You could try that?

Plus it depends on the CSR, some are more sympathetic than others.

Yeah, it was a corporate store. I don't have any third party retailers in the area that could provide the services I needed at the time. Either way, I'm happy now. The woman who was extremely rude to me was fired.

On a side note, I got my first
