hey guys so i recently downloaded utorrent on my connect along with the pirates bay torrent app and ever since then my phone has been giving me problems. i dont know if i downloaded bad torrent files but my phone will keep turing off on me and the overall phone is not functioning properly (lags on start up and apps sometime dont work).

should i do a hard reset to help with this issue? how would i do a hard reset?

also i dont want to lose my contacts along with my media files (music, pictures, videos) and all my downloaded apps.

what should the overall process be to help cover all these matters, please help you guys in a step by step tutorial, thanks

On problem of phone tirning off. Can i get more info? Are there any conditions that makes it turn off? Does it actually do a shut down or does it do a restart? Did u try unstslling the torrent apps u think may be related? Is the issue getting progressivly worse? What is the batteries srare of charge during these shut downs? Have tried a known good battery yet? What data network is the phone connected to when she shuts down?
You might check all this before doing a fac rst.. I had a similar issue, but my phone kept trying to teboot and was hanging at the metro splash screen or the lg screen.. My fix was a new battery. Unfortunatly i did the fac rst 1st.. But that made me clean up a lot of crap on the rebuild. I did the fac update and logged back to google act and everything resynced fine and found all my orig downloaded apps in the sdcard reloaded what i started to reload a few. Rooted the phone again, launched my TitaniumBU annd reloaded the rest to their data and phone is fully recovered. As we all known this phone draws way morecurrent than the battery can sustain, so the stock battery takes the toll, and eventually goes kaput..
