Help touch screen non responsive

well I guess my recent question about basic navigation skills isn't too important to me now


I went to sleep last night and my Indulge was working great, woke up to a low battery(forgot to connect it to the charger) so I did the usual battery swap. Turned the phone back on...everything appears normal except the touch screen no longer responds. It wasn't dropped(recently), it didn't get wet, the screen is clean.

Besides updating apps a few days ago I did add Skype yesterday but everything was working fine at bedtime.

is there anything I can check or do besides the old fashioned "bang it on the desk a few times" method? Has anyone ever seen this happen because something became corrupted and reloading the ROM fixed it?

it's a definite hardware problem, I reloaded it and there is no change.

I guess its time to upgrade the phone but I am a little short on $$$ after the 49ers lost yesterday if you know what I mean. Found someone locally selling an indulge new in the box for $80, since I already have chargers, 3 extended batteries it's the most reasonable option.

just because money is tight I had to just replace the indulge with the one from craigslist. When I do upgrade I am sure I can get around $80 for the phone and all batteries n accessories so I should be fine.

Now if they would just lower the price of an sIII I would be in good shape.

still haven't ordered the 12 dollar part yet to try to repair my old one.... it's only $12 bucks but even if I fix it, I don't think its worth selling to anyone, it has been well used and partially abused...the slide out keyboard moves around way more than the new one...the keypad between a couple of the letters is split... so I don't think I am going to repair it. I don't need two and it's a little too beat up to sell to someone even if I fix the touchscreen.

just wanted respond since I did say I would post the results after trying to repair it.....
