Help lost all text msgs after Jelly Bean 1.4.2 update

Got a Marauder for my wife about a year ago (summer 2012), using the installed text messaging app. Soon after, added the "SMS Sent Time" app so she could see the full timestamp text was received. That's it, nothing else.

Now, just got the JB 1.4.2 update and ALL text messages are gone, including all picture texts...
A few hours after the update, when trying to send a text, got a message "Messaging Has Stopped"

Is it possible this update actually DELETED all her texts? Or, are they just 'hidden'..

Any suggestions? My wife is VERY upset...HELP! :thinking:

UPDATE: 6/19/2012
My wife talked with Verizon support and they confirmed ALL text messages are lost on this update. Also, text messages are not part of the backup app that she uses.
Thus, we are screwed. I find this very hard to believe...any thoughts?

I'm surprised this phone got an update to Jelly Bean. Pleasantly surprised.

Need to get a new phone while this one is still under some kind of warranty. It's stuck on the release ROM.
