Hello, and welcome to AF!

I don't have that phone, but I am reading about it in here because I am thinking about getting one.

I don't know what that symbol is, but i do know that some phones have power savings modes that restrict functionality when the battery runs low.

Until someone comes up with something more specific, you might consider that a possibility.

That's the "no data connection" symbol.

It can appear for several reasons, including a local data carrier outage, carrier tower out of range, malfunctioning or corrupted SIM card, data plan ended, etc.

You've tested for the SIM card issue, so the next step would be to contact your provider and tell them what is happening.

Sometimes a factory data reset ("hard reset") resolves those issues, but before doing that I'd contact the carrier. ;)
