Help No Internet Connection via Wi-Fi.

Greetings.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 from Sprint. This was purchased new in January of 2012. Here is my story.

I have Time Warner Cable internet service, utilizing my own Belkin Router. Since I have had both the internet service, and my phone, I have been able to connect without issue to my GS2. Able to seamlessly browse the internet to my heart's content. (My Sprint plan has unlimited data). A week ago my area suffered a small internet outage for about the space of 5 hours. After the outage had cleared up, I rebooted my modem, and then my router.

My wired desktop connected, as did my wireless laptop, and my PS3 (also wirelessly). My GS2 saw the network as usual, but would not let me access any internet website, or service (Netflix, Youtube..etc)

At this point I started doing normal troubleshooting. I rebooted my modem and router once more. Tested internet on all other devices with success, GS2 still won't work. Remoted into my router and changed the frequency. No luck. Created a new network unsecured. Still no luck. Again all other devices worked fine.

From there I called Sprint. Sprint walked me through a reset on my phone, that let it reset all it's internal network settings. All features work on the phone as they should, but the problem remains.

So I call up Samsung and try and work through that. They are unable to help me, but they decide that I might have a bad wireless network card now in my GS2. So I tested that theory. Every other wi-fi hot spot I can find and get into, the GS2 connects and lets me on the internet without an issue.

So, at this point I go ahead and factory reset my router to out of the box condition. I setup a brand new network name, key, and channel. Still will not connect. Rebooted my modem and router again in proper order and there is no change. Rebooted my phone (with battery out) for two minutes. Booted back up, still no change. Forgot all networks in my network list, still no change.

So I can't say it's my phone since it connects to other networks. I can't say it's my modem or router since all other devices in my home can get on.

I'm able to ping my phone's IP address and it comes back with ping results after two timeouts. The MAC and IP are listed in my router as being connected to it.

If anyone has any further suggestions I'd love to hear them, thanks!.

Update: I found that if I enter in the IP address for a website, it goes right to the website. So immediately I thought that there is an issue with my DNS. I hopped onto my 3G and downloaded a DNS changer. The DNS was set to my Router's IP address. So I removed that and put in Google's DNS. Saved those changes. Yet still, nothing without putting in the IP address. Still stuck, but getting closer I suppose.

2nd Update: While believing there to be an issue with the DNS settings, I decided to go with replacing my modem from my ISP. The new modem works in tandam with the router, and again provides internet service to all devices, except (you guessed it) the GS2.

So the issue was actually still DNS, but I couldn't changed the DNS in my phone successfully. I had to remote into my router and remove the option of it pulling from my ISP, and go to Google's DNS. Everything works smoothly now.

i have a similar issue. Suddenly my galaxy S2 stopped receiving intenet connectivity over Wifi from my Laptops hotspot, although the connections exists and also shows on the top bar. No issues with regards to internet connectivity over Data plan. Tried factory reset, reinstalling android software, upgrading the wifi software and WiFI dashboard on my laptop too, but no result. This DNS Could be the issue, can u plz guide me how to do it.
