Root [Verizon] throttle

Verizon calls it "Network Optimization", here's the scoop straight from the source:

Network Optimization | Verizon Wireless

Cliff notes version...VZW only throttles people who have unlimited plans AND who are using 3G during a time of high network congestion. So you don't reach a cap and then start getting throttled but rather it's an ongoing thing related to network availability. If you're on 4G, it's never throttled.

As to whether there's a file that can be altered to thwart that, I'm not sure. I'd think it'd be a tricky proposition because you'd have to be able to get 3G from the network while not allowing the network to realize you're getting 3G. Seems difficult but perhaps not impossible.

So you say its a file can i ask what or wher this file is so someone can post that it works and users can stop the capped data .

Verizon and boost don't work the same.

Boost you have unlimited* data, but are and throttled after you use x amount.

Verizon you pay for x amount and if you go over you just pay more

Thanks for the info. I realized no cap. After I read they charge for overages. So bottom line how is this phone? Everything works no problem with GPS or anything. And how are the Roms? In a flash junky. Lol

Great phone imo. I'm usually a flash junkie too but this is the only phone I've ever stayed with stock and preferred it to roms. I have tried some roms but really, I wasn't seeing much I had to have on all the pre-kitkat stuff. Since kitkat roms have been in development, I'm much more interested but last I checked, there was still some bugs to be ironed out.

Kinda seems like they're having a hard time injecting some of the cool stuff into the UI...like extra toggle buttons etc because they have to get into the web of proprietary code written by LG. But they will if they haven't already. I have flashed some mods though and also used Xposed as they have a module for the G2 that has some stuff.

Phone for me is great so far. Development for the Verizon variant has been very strong (it's just quiet over here, but check XDA and it's boomtown). Haven't used GPS much but when I have, no problems there. Battery life is insane, best I've ever had in a phone by a long shot. Running CM11 nightly now and dig it, but like IBT said, LG put some really good software enhancements there so the need to ROM isn't so important. Remove some bloat and you'll be quite happy. :)

Couple calls, medium text, with mainly browser and play store usage. :)
