The install instructions for the AdvancedStock7 state several times to 'format' cache or 'format' dalvik cache, however, I don't see this option in the CWM.

You can also go to - mounts and storage. You'll see the mount and format buttons for everything but Dalvik.

Starting with a clean install of AdvancedStock7, I continue to have the problem of no personal Avatar (image next to outgoing text messages) in any SMS apps that have this function. All other contacts Avatar's work fine. This function, as stated before, worked fine in Stock v6 firmware.
To me, it seems something with the ROM is causing this one small but very annoying anomaly.

With ChompSMS, you are 'forcing' the Avatar to display as with many others, it's pulled from the contact list - which isn't working on any apps that do this. This worked fine with v6 stock firmware.

This rom is like a dream come true. I love that it includes the SD/Internal swap. Minus the FC errors that seem unavoidable, it's great!

I can't wait to see where this ends up going. It's the best custom rom i've seen for this phone so far. It basically fills the void that I wanted kitkat for. Is it still necessary to use Link2SD with the storage swap, or should apps just install and work fine and use the whole space?

Please read some of my previous posts, sd card swap is not compatible with links2sd. You can only do one or the other.

I appreciate your help with this ROM and within the community Sandix, but you probably shouldn't have put *Donate to Sandix in your ROM. Android is open source and free and people shouldn't have to look at your name at the top of their settings every time they click on it. I'm still using it regardless and will be happy to donate on a separate page. It just seems weird.

Ah, I'd rather have them swapped, Link2SD has its limits. Another cool feature would be to silence the stock camera. But you can just download nexus camera, it's better anyway.

oh yeah i was planning on moving it anyway, i had put that there as a test to see if i could compile the apk properly. I know android is open source, thats why im giving the rom away for free 
but i also ask for donations, good coffee to keep me up in the long hours of the night to make this rom isnt cheap unfortunately.
If you feel like donating, there is a link in the OP, otherwise, the next update, the donation link in the rom will be moved to a less obvious location like the about phone or something.

Didn't you mention the overclock kernel was in the rom? I installed no-frills and I didn't get any higher speed options. Sometimes I think this phone needs a little bump up to at least 1.5 Ghz

Ah, nevermind if it causes instability. I was having a real struggle with storage on my last stock rooted rom with Link2SD, and eventually I could watch the system apps sort of corrupt over time, it was weird.

So, wait...I just installed a bunch of apps, and yet it was still using a lot of the "SD card" real internal space?? So I got insufficient storage for the last 5 apps I was installing.

Same here. I tried out AdvancedStock 7 and was liking it, but had to fall back to rooted stock because of the problems with Link2SD and the card swap script not giving me as much space as Link2SD. I had wiped the phone totally and tried it out without L2SD installed and quickly ran out of space, so I'm not sure what the deal is.

Ah hah - that was it, man. Good catch.
Now my compulsory pickiness can rest - at least for this issue. I really like 8sms more than ChompSMS - even though ChompSMS can send MMS without switching to 3G. I am a big fan of Apps that are completely inverted - including the settings. ChompSMS has an 'inverted' theme but its not totally inverted (Setting pages are white background with black text). Again, my compulsory pickiness
