Official EVO Rumors and Speculation thread

Supposedly full flash. They ran this site perfectly on the Evo.

New York

No word of internal storage. Dan was very vague with his short presentation. All the other minor details you're hearing on blogs was obtained via the press release handed out tonight. Hesse just said June 4/$199.

Guess I'll actually have to wait until release date or when the final "full" spec sheet is released. That additional internal storage is the last deal point I need before fully commiting. Pre-order at Best buy won't bother me, since I can use that $50 elsewhere if the EVO specs fall short.

Thanks, Jeph Ghost!

lol tell that to everyone owning an iphone? ATT makes people pay 30 bucks for the data. sprint is only making you pay 10.

there is an old saying i think you know "2 wrongs don't make a right"

I'm not happy with the$10 but I will pay it BUT it's paying- for 4g but not having 4g available that bothers me Who knows when it will be available to me next month or a year. If you buy your mercedes and it doesn't have an option you paid for would you just accept it? NOT!!

I am a happy camper..Sprint let this one go through...I am sold. I don't care about the price..I am going to video chat my arse off. I know this is going to work with internet calls via web pc cams. (Free minutes baby) I am happy to see that Sprint kept my Google microphone Icon, but looks like they cut back from 3-way to 2-way bummer. Consumers for the win though.

Well looking into that line of thinking, lets take a look at the 69.99 plan. Hmmm it seems that it includes the data...Odd so the data seems to be included in the price. Now there is a $10 fee for a feature that I cannot use. Or even if you can use it, Dan himself said there would be no extra charge for. Ok so there goes your entire justification. It may not be a big deal to you, but to me it is. Plain and simple.

But it makes a left. Lets face facts, I am going to eat up at least 30 gigs with this thing a month. I will connect it into my server to stream movies, music and files. I will beat the data horse to death. And the 10 bucks also removes the data cap for 3g, you can not forget that. For unlimited data and full internet I think I will buy it.

1. Circles still there
2. Must have earphones plugged in for FM radio
3. June 4th not 6th
4. $10 for 4G

Hmmmm....

I got an infraction and probation because I said that what he way saying was not the truth.

Lets stop talking about him. He is in the past. And we are soo over with and done.

The record is clear what really happened. And we have the future to contented with.

We have soo much to deal with in the future. Like rooting the phone now.

perhaps it's time that you stop drooling over the evo?

$10 for 4G is a must, REGARDLESS of whether or not you're in a 4G area.

720p video capture was really good. On par with a Flip HD with a quick glance; but I'm getting one to test next week and will try that out more then.

Absolutely NO CONFIRMATION about pre-ordering via RadioShack on the 21st like BSOD had said. Should know more on that tomorrow; will update you all accordingly...

Thanks Jeph Ghost... I'm really hoping for great camera performance from the Evo.

At least it didn't make you go "Eeeewwwwww!!!"

Awesome! Thanks a bunch. I wish they'd upload some test shots/pics. I plan on using this as my full time camera

Is it confirmed that the $10 dollar extra a month gets rid of the 3G cap? Are there any other actual extras to the forced $10 dollar a month? It'd be easier to swallow if it came with extra services (though if it's just extra sprint t.v. channels or radio channels, that hardly justifies the price jump)

While it's true that some users will be using more data with the phone, is that not the reason the 5G cap was put in the first place? It should not matter whatsoever how much data we use as long as we stayed within that cap.

This is assuming that everyone will exceed that 5G cap, and since I hardly tether and intend to mostly browse websites, I'm fairly certain that I would have little chance of exceeding that.

I guess so. So the last 6 months of watching every peice of news and drooling countless times on my keyboard were wasted. Really a sad night for me. But I guess greed knows no bounds. Good night all, and hopefully when they change their minds on all this, I will be back. But for now back to lurking and trying to decide if there is another phone out there for me.

It looks to me like Sprint is making you pay the exact same amount. A 450 Everything Messaging Plan is 49.99. A 450 minute Everything Data Plan is 69.99. So you are paying an additional $20 for data. Plus now an additional $10 for the EVO. $20+10=$30.

Sprint's pricing for the EVO is becoming the same as AT&T's for the iPhone. They have just lost one of their most compelling reasons for people to switch to them. (Certainly the most compelling reason for me.)
