If I'm ever robbed or murdered while preparing or eating food, my dogs should not only be questioned for dereliction of duty, but probably active charged as accomplices in the crime.

She's tiny in my book. She looks like I could carry her under one arm. 40 pounds? Nope! 20.I
trained with German Shephards and Alstatians. 50 to 80 when they're young. Sarge, my only dog who out ranked me was at least 75 pounds and I had to carry him 200 yards in training. Simulated casualties. I had too. He outranked me. He was in the shit.

The companionship is worth it IMO and a chance one always takes when taking on a pet friend. I became best buds with a parrot back in 03. I was 50 at the time and his life expectancy is 70 years. He might well outlive my son who will be his new parent at some point. But for now we are best friends.
