adding photo to facebook message

Yesterday I somehow managed to add photos to a facebook message.
and now I can't figure out how to do it again.

I've googled this, and searched the forum, but couldn't find the answer. and of course, facebook help is useless.

i have an ancient htc evo 4g.

any suggestions would be very welcome.
hope i'm posting to the right forum!

There is a paperclip to the left of the text bar when writing the message, from there once you click on it you can add a photo
