answering phone

I have had my droid for a week and have mastered much of the phone. What is an eternal problem is when I am on an application and the phone rings. I have to call the person back every time as I cannot get it to slide to open. This is the stupidest way to answer a phone. First punch the button to activate the screen then do the slide. That part I have down, don't like it but have gotten it down. Doing something and then have the phone ring and it does not matter if I slide fast, easy or hard; it does not unlock! I am ready to junk this thing and buy a blackberry
