Thanks for that. I have noticed that I now have a blue vertical arrow on the home page at the top info bar and it states 'searching for location'. Why is this when I have disabled satnav. The arrow only came up after I had used the satnav and then cancelled it. What do I need to do to get rid of it?
Most likely that notification message is not relavent anymore (or it is "timed out", so to speak). What i mean is that when you originally used your navigation app it triggered the notification "searching for location" and when you turned he app off it just remained there. BUt this doent mean it is still searching though. Pull down the notification bar and hit "clear". That will remove it. This happens sometimes.
If a notification is triggered it only goes away if you click on it which shows the system you have recognized it, or if you hit clear. Say for instance you download a new app, a notification comes to tell you it is successfully installed. If you then click it it opens up the app and goes away. But if you open the new app through the app drawer or another method, the notification remains reminding you you have a new app even though its purpose has already been served. Anyway my point is, the notifications are not always relevent, they may be old and just sitting there because you havent cleared them.
Hope this helps.
As far as this thread goes and the main issue of battery life, I dont know. I can accept that usage determines alot, but still I didnt buy an expensive amrtphone to use it without its functions just so I can get good battery life. I understand you cant entirly expect to get the best of both worlds but i do hope there is a good solution or app or something, somewhere.
As for now I bought an $11 battery replacement for my nexus one, along with $5 battery charger. After shipping it still only came out to less then $20. Even if the battery is a cheap knock off, between it and my original one, both of them can easily get me through a day and into the next. I know its not ideal, but having the option is nice and also not expensive.
