Brass bed destruction

Seems very unlikely. If the non-channel-lockable fasteners are so loose they can be turned by hand, it would have fallen apart by now (or the screws/bolts would be bent, so not able to turn fully as you try to unscrew them).

The tools needed would be whatever is required and since we can't see it, we can't say. ;) Some use allen bolts, some conventional. If it's more modern it's probably all allen bolts.

Good luck.

Do you have a freecycle website for your area? Post a pic and see if someone wants it, then they can come disassemble it.

Also, some use a cap to cover the actual fastener, and those usually just pop off (or gently pried off with a screwdriver).

I’m a bit confused, though. Channelocks are pliers (tongue-in-groove type), and if they wouldn’t do it, how would regular (slip-joint?) pliers help?

Good luck with it.
