    Hi guys,

I've been looking for an app that lets you change channels on tv. Do you know any app that is able to do this?

    Thanks

It depends on the phone hardware. Does it have infrared?

Several Android devices now have an infrared emitter on the edge. My Tab 2 7" does, and I've set it up as a remote for my TVs and cable boxes.

    No app needed. ;)

But, in Play Store, searching under "tv remote control," I see many. Have a look in there. :) Be sure to check the app descriptions for your device's compatibility.

The Note 2 has no infrared I'm afraid. At least mine doesn't.

If you use Netflix through a Roku box you can get a free app that allows you to control that and it works great! But unless your phone has the IR emitter, you won't be able to control a TV like a regular remote - no matter what the apps out there promise. And some of them can be deceptive.

I have a Panasonic Plasma with wifi. Panny has an app that lets you change channels, volume, settings. Works well. I would guess most brands have an app, and if you have a newer wifi TV you don't need IR. Why use it, the remote works.
