Hello everyone, new Android user here from Seattle, WA.

Any word on an extended battery for the Prevail yet? All I have been able to find is the 1500 mAh.I am loving this phone but I feel like I am constantly having to keep it on the charger ;)

    Thanks in advance!

Same here, looking for a battery that has a higher mAh rating than 1500.

What I do to make money or what I do to help Survi
    The Mitten - U.S.A

I noticed no one has address this question yet. Yes, the battery with the "OEM" part number EB504465VA and this HCL-T839SL match up. My only question is how much is the already hefty temperature of the Prevail going to rise with the new Extended Life in place?

If anyone else has/is using this battery, let me know about it. I just got mine and I'm getting my lady one this weekend too so I haven't been able to get too many gadgets for it besides the Stereo Bluetooth and the Stylus. I already had 2 MicroSD's so I sent my old US Cel. Messager to my Sis so I was able to keep my original Kingston :)

    Anyways, thanks fella's.

I know I might be picky here, but an extra 300mAh from the stock 1500mAh is NOT worth paying $46 something odd dollars for! What a rip off. For that price you could buy 2 more Samsung OEM batteries as spares!

Ok, the following isn't a replacement battery but it might be of interest to some of you out there:

Amazon.com: GTMax Black 2 USB Port Compact External Portable Rechargeable Emergency Backup Battery Charger (5000mAh) - Includes USB Charging Cable + Interchangable Charging Tips + 1 Year Warranty - for Samsung Eternity II SGH-A597 / Gusto U360 / Flig

From the reviews most people can recharge their phones 3 times before having to charge the unit for use again, which is pretty darn good!

Turn your screen down as much as possible and run an app killer and turn of wireless and gps unless needed. I get a day of use with mine no prob , with moderate use. Battery life is much better than my old samsung galaxy s was.

I keep my screen on bright, I keep wireless on most of the time, I am near wireless unless driving, then i turn it off. I keep gps bluetooth sync off unless using them though.
I get 30 hours with moderate use on average.

Wow!! I feel good when I get 16 hours. Do you drive through areas where you lose the Boost signal? Do you use Airplane mode much? Much voice calls or text messaging? I am trying to gauge moderate usage to compare to mine. Maybe I got a bum battery. Or I play with the phone too much.

I notice that Voice Calls and GPS seem to drink the juice faster.

I rarely lose boost signal, my driving is in a dense cell tower area, except when I go to the beach, then I get weak signals.
I never use airplane mode I would say voice calls are only about 10 per day on most days. texts and mms varies 3 to 30 per day. my main use, reason I say moderate and not light, play solitaire or Reading an ebook 30 mins to 2 hours at a strech. I occasionally do other things such as check weather, google items etc.

I easily get a full day out of my handset as well. Though i know someone that has had the phone about the same amount of time but gets worse battery life at approx. the same usage. One difference I know between the 2 is I fully drained and than fully charged the battery in my handset before I activated it and used it, my friend did not. Not sure if that would make a true difference or not

I hear you there, I was told, later that lith ion batterys do not have that "memory" but I do it that way anyway I have always found it gets a better charge and each subsequent charge I wait till its under 10% and every 3 or 4 times I drain it til 1%

Interesting to see that people are getting good use out of their battery. Well I must have a bad battery then...I let it fully drain when I bought it and then fully charge. The screen is on medium brightness and I dont use wifi that often. I moderately surf the web (mostly YouTube)/text and make phone calls. I am only seeing 6 maybe 7 hours out of the battery when I use it in moderation. When I constantly use it maybe 4-5 hours. I am thinking I need to get a replacemenet battery if some of you are saying you get 20-30 hours for moderate use?

I agree with your recommendations. I turn off data whenever possible, and this greatly extends battery life. I can go a day and half without charging again if data is turned off.

It could be the youtube use that is causing your battery to drain so quickly. Streaming videos requires more juice to the processor than merely viewing webpages.

Also I would try an app killer, or manually going in and force stopping applications in settings when your not using the phone. Most apps don't completely shut down when you back out of them and continue to run in the background.

Also what is your signal strength like? When you have no signal he system uses more of the battery to attempt to gain signal, best to place your phone in airplane mode if you go into an area where you know you will have little to no signal for a prolong period of time.

I get pretty good signal in my area. This is my first Android phone, I guess I am just used to my BB that would last me all day with moderate use. Don't get me wrong though, I love this phone...I will just have to be patient and wait for an extended battery to come out. =]
