Root Has anybody rooted using this tool?

Hate to be a pest, but another question if you dont mind. I use to have a 4 digit pin to enter whenever the screen went to sleep, i have been into CM settings and location and security where i have chosen a 4 digit pin but the screen refuses to lock, even when i reboot it does not prompt for the pin.
Cheers again

Thank you :) It's a steep learning curve, but i'll get the hang of it :)

Updated to 7.1.0, all my data intact, and will flash Lordmod's kernel later on. Might try the BFS this time and see what that's like

It most certainly is, but once you get the hang of it, there's no stopping you. If you're into gaming and using the phone for watching videos etc, BFS might be for you. BFS will channel the majority of the CPU power to the application running in the foreground, ensuring it gets the lions share of juice. CFS will make sure everything gets an equal share of the CPU. I tend to find BFS was slightly worse on battery than CFS and when I switched to another application/exited the current one, the phone was stuttery for a bit afterwards. Feel free to try both though, see which works best for you. :)

Yesssss, got CM7 on and working, just restoring my Apps then its off to fire on Lordmod's kernel, and its happy days.
Once again, big shout out to El Presidente and Xyro for all there help:)

Glad you're sorted, that's what we're here for!

I'd to mess about with my settings too, it didn't play nicely with Widgetlocker on first attempt.

Settings -> CM Settings -> Lockscreen settings -> Unlock options.

There's also a setting here which may be messing with things:

Settings -> CM Settings -> Tablet Tweaks -> Disable Lockscreen

Is the bottom one checked per chance?

Not sure what i did on the way out of CM settings, but bugger me its working now.
Once again thanks for all your help mate.
Cheers

NP's, as I say, my settings were slightly temperamental and it took a little messing around to get them to work properly.

In all fairness, I'm not sure what I did to sort either, it just worked

Went to the pub to watch Scotland's glorious failure yet again at 1900:mad: Back at 2230 and the battery is reading 86% and had been giving it a fair bit of usage, think in 3.5 hours it normally would have been down to about %65, so well chuffed. :)

I'm at work so I missed it thankfully, not that I expected anything less....

Once you've calibrated the battery, want to try undervolting to improve things further?

Also, I found the 7.5 kernel was overclocked by default. Head to Settings -> CM Settings -> Performance (Click OK) -> CPU Settings.

Is your Max over 1075? If so, lower it to that around 998/1075 and set your minimum to 230. Change your governor to Brazillianwax and you're sorted.

Thats the calibration done came in at 4204 mV. Changed the settings in CM settings like you said so will see how it goes.
What is this undervolting you speak of?

Basically you run the processor at a lower voltage than by default. So you consume less power for the same amount of work.

Every individual phone can handle undervolting to a different degree, too low and it crashes (no permanent damage :)) so you have to play around with it.

^^That.

Easy enough to do, you flash a zip in clockwork, then you control it via an app. If it locks, pull the battery, reboot and try another setting (there's 5 you can try). If you get to the stage where it won't boot, you just flash the reset zip in recovery.

Yeah, once you flash the undervolting .zip from his website it will create a folder on your sdcard containing the reset.zip.

A word of warning though - I'd been undervolting for ages and never had a problem. But when I tried it recently it crashed and I somehow managed to wipe my sdcard (perhaps it was a coincidence, perhaps not). To make things worse, I had just factory reset for a new rom and hadn't backed up my sdcard to my pc in a long time. Everything was gone.

So I'd really recommend backing up your sdcard first :p

Charge your phone for at least an hour after it reports it's at 100% then open the Calibration app. If it reports the current charge as 4200mV said:
Do not recharge again until the battery is fully depleted.[/B]

That's it! :D

It looks a lot, but it's not really and shouldn't take more than half an hour. If it doesn't make sense (It might not, I am mega tired), or you get stuck, post and someone will be able to assist/correct me.

:)Getting bored now Prez waiting on the battery to run down. Full charge was yestarday at 11.45 am, has had a moderate bit of usage, email, Facebook, calling texting, Wifi on constantly, but its still only at 38%;)

It's quite impressive isn't it. I take it you'd be dead by now with the stock offering?

Finally died at 21.18, thats some impressive sh1t:D. May even go down the undervolting route if you can be @rsed posting the instructions:eek:

Cheers mate, will give it a go at the weekend

Just be careful you don't fire in with the higher values straight away. Start off low (-25mV), test for a bit (just use your phone as normal, maybe do something pretty intensive like a game etc), then work your way up. If it crashes, just pull the battery and start again. If it doesn't boot, that's easy enough to sort (there are instructions in the post with the attachment).

I can't get higher than -50mV, but that does me fine. :)
