this signal issue is worrying me, its the reason i sent my iphone 3gs back.

Yeah, give it time. I'm sure it'll do it at some point once the right conditions are there. It was doing it last night when I was in a known poor reception area. Slightly annoying.

I have signal strength issues, but that's not the fault of the phone. It's the fault of the area / house.

I live in a hilly area and one of my rooms seems to be a faraday cage since the people who did the coversion seem to have used chicken wire between the plasterboard.... Even WiFi has trouble getting to that room despite the fact it goes fine to the floor above. But on the rest 1st / 2nd floor of my house I get full 3G.
