Help How to hide recent apps?

Does anyone know how to hide the recent apps in Android Pie?

I don't think this is possible. You could hide the nav buttons entirely, if that helps? A different launcher might remove the function from the nav bar, although not disable it completely.

Maybe use an app like Custom Navigation Bar and create your own layout without the button. That's all I can think of.
