I plan to get this phone. Who's with me?

No doubt about my love for my EVO 3D, but I don't think I can resist not upgrading to such a cool device. There comes a time in your life that you just have to let go. And move on to the next best thing.

Even though my next update is sometime next year. No worries, though, because this device will still be one of the best even up to 2014.

I usually deal with radioshack but i guess ill have to pre order thru sprint... does anyone know if radioshack will be doing pre orders? or am i really better off just going thru sprint? and another Q.... pre sale begins may 7th... when do i actually get my hands on it?! : )

As per my usual yearly phone upgrade that I do, I will be buying this day one most likely at close to full price. My 3D works just fine, however the geek in me has to have the latest that's out, plus I like a few new things they added and fixed.

An Achilles heel for the EVO 4G has been real time battery life (or lack of it). The EVO 4G LTE does not have a [consumer] replaceable battery - if it is a power hog, the phone may be doomed. (The EVO 4G has been a power hog with an inadequate original battery What will be the power draw of the LTE version - stay tuned!)

i want.. been sitting on my upgrade since November...htc is what i have always gotten in the past....

but want to see about sammy's sg3... because of the rumored very thin bezel all around phone... love that look. and of course i want real confirmation the GPS is fixed.

Can't wait, I'm all over this phone. Already signed up for the presale. Now I just have to wait for LTE in central FL.

How did you already sign up for the pre-sale? I thought that wasn't possible until 7 May?

I've had my EVO for over a year and was very excited to hear the new bigger better EVO was coming out UNTIL I see the plug in to charge is on the bottom as with the Thunderbolt rendering the kick stand useless while plugged in and you can't take the battery out and switch a new on in that is a must with any Android phone if you use it a lot. 2 major flaws that will keep me waiting for them to get it right. Keeping my old EVO.

kickstand....works in 3 positions.. both landscape .. and portrait... there are pics of it in all 3 positions out.

battery is larger...2000mah. and with better more efficient parts.. it should be pretty good .. depending on your area's signal strength and usage.

but ...you can wait for the next phone... there is always one coming around the corner.. with different specs.. android and choices! :)

Actually, using the kickstand while charging will work just like it works on the Photon, since it's much stronger than the kickstand for the EVO or the thunderbolt. You can flip the phone onto the other side and it'll prop up fine.

I'm also waiting to see what Samsung brings with the GS3. I'm not all in with the EVO just yet.

perhaps pixel density is what we're really comparing... That's what really makes the difference... There are a few 720p Android phones out there, which by definition are higher resolution than the iPhone 4/s. These phones can achieve Apple's definition of 'retina display' of 300+ pixels per inch even with the larger physical dimensions of the screen.

So basically, we have the retina density AND more real estate. Their resolution advantage is gone.

Sorry, I was wrong. They're close (540X960), but not quite where the iPhone 4s is (640X960).

wow I didn't even think it was as close as it obviously is! with all the hoopla about retina I just figured the difference would much further apart.

just makes it even sweeter that el TEvo accomplishes that high amount of pixel density (thanks novox) on a 4.7 incher. I really can't wait for this phone!!!

weird, but saying pixel density just made me feel smart for a second...nice

Glad I waited before upgrading. My contract expired a month ago and I spoke to the Sprint peoples a few weeks ago and they said I should wait a bit for a new phone. Looks like I will try to pre-order this.
The Sprint rep told me the $200 price is AFTER my $150 saving on a new contract. My Evo will be worth $80 to trade it in. But we'll see.
