Messages out of order

Been looking for a solution for this for a few weeks now. Think it happened on the android update previous to this last one.

Issue is when i send messages to any phone, on any carrier, randomly my messages will be out of order.

I was using message+ from Verizon on my Pixel 2XL, current version of the app 6.6.5.

Testing done (examples are from yesterday, issue has been present for a few weeks, getting worse now)-

To Verizon recipient on iPhone 8
I sent my son a few texts yesterday morning, those texts were out of order. My 4 messages were all stacked together, showing same time stamp even though they were several minutes apart. His texts back to me (also using message+ ver. 6.6.5) were out of order the same way on his phone. Later yesterday when i messaged him the message flow was normal.

To AT&T recipient on Samsung 7 active-
I sent my girlfriend 3 messages yesterday at lunch, 4 or 5 minutes apart. She sent her response between each message. All 3 of each message were stacked like with my son. 30 - 45 minutes later i sent another message and the flow returned to normal.

To Sprint recipient on Samsung Note 8 -
Same issue as above.

Changed message app to default messages on my Pixel 2XL just after lunch yesterday, no out of order messages at all. Installed Handcent Next message app yesterday evening, no out of order messages yet.

From what i can see this is just an issue with the message+ app. The only other thing that may be a factor is I'm on a business account with my company, and the others are all consumer accounts.

Ideas?

Forgot to add that i saw the posts for the network time toggle that fixed similar issues in other posts. I've tried that with no success, also tried clearing the cache in the app, and even a full reset of the phone, all failed to resolve the problem.

Yes, sometimes the service/internet will push the smaller sections of messages 1st and then go from there. Signal is sometimes the biggest factor in such
If that's the case then it should have organized the messages as 1, 3, 2 in order. There was also roughly 5 minutes between messages, mine and hers. The 6 message conversation with my girlfriend above took place over a 30+ minute time frame. It wasn't a typical teenage text session of 6 messages in under 5 seconds ;)

Also, in my office building the reception can be poor, so that part i can understand getting messages out of order due to signal or size push. However, at lunch i'm outside, or at home, with great signal strength.

So the problem could related to an update in the Verizon Messages(Message+) app you're using?

Maybe try a different texting app if it does have issues? See if anyone else reports problems with it?
Textra and Handcent are often recommended on AF.

My best guess is a glitch with the app. I've posted this on the Verizon community forums but so far it has been ignored. I don't see a way to roll back to the previous version, or maybe the one before that as i don't recall which update this started happening with.

I used handcent for years before running into a really buggy release about the time they added chat features. I'm using it again now and so far have not had any problems. So all is well. I was hoping to find a possible fix, as this is happening with others I know, they just don't bother to report it.
