Need help

Hi all, my SE x10i is playing up, first thing the screen will freeze then it will turn its self off, and wont turn on for up to 1hr, then when it does it keeps resetting it self for about 20-30min. ive tryed the SE updating service but its still got the same problem. does anyone know what is wrong with it and how to fix it.

my OS is android 2.1 update 1. and SEUS says its the latest one out.

The ONLY thing that I can think of to do is to "repair" your install. I believe that it will erase all phone data (not on card but in phone).

Just use the SE software like you did...and choose "repair" and follow the steps.

I would advise to repair as well. If you can, root the phone and install Titanium Backup first so you can backup all your data.

ok. silly question time, what do you mean by root.

In one sentence, it means getting super user access, so you can do anything you want with your phone.

In real life, the benefits are that you can use some applications that don't work with most stock ROMs (like Titanium Backup) and install custom ROMs. You can also get themes, boot animations, etc. if your phone is rooted.
