You guys are crazy. I have had my Droid 1 (its European equivalent to be exact) for 7 months now and ATM I do not even see any competition for the handset to exchange it for! Why? Because it is not about a handset being new, but about a handset that really suits my needs.

im perfectly happy with my dx, but the main line of the family plan im on has its new every two coming up at the end of october. i might check this out and sell whichever one i dont like.
or maybe wait til 2nd quarter to see if LTE phone rears its ugly head.

Ok, So I'm coming from a Storm 1 which Ive had for the last 22 months.
1. Should I go ahead and get a DX?
2. Should I wait for a different phone (This Phone?) to come out in the next 2 months and use my NE2?
3. Should I sign a 2 year contract so that when I'm due for an upgrade LTE will be rolled out and have its bugs fixed?
4. Or just a 1 year contract? Money is an issue for me (College Student, no job, only G.I. Bill) but I could probably swing a 1 year contract instead of a 2 year.

And feel free to expand on anything I haven't considered.

well you won't be able to use the NE2 credit on the one year contract. so if money is an issue that would be enough to deter me. If something comes out in the next 6 months that you want, you could always put the DX on ebay and buy the new phone at full retail.

I think it looks like a nice phone. It looks a bit stale though since it looks a lot like the Nexus One to me. I'm really curious as to what the full specifications are though. I want more pictures!

For me its not about the style, but about what it can do. Specs. A faster dual core is nice, FF Cam is pretty cool. Not enough for me to think about upgrading unless it has 4G and they launch 4G in my area. Verizon is supposed to launch an initial 30 4G LTE markets by the end of the year. This phone may line up with that launch.

not a chance.

Unfortunately no. The x doest have the hardware to support LTE. You would need a new radio and a sim card

Rumor is November 15th with 30 undisclosed markets. Likely to be major cities.
