Help Newbie Questions

Hi,

I just got my SGS today and am totally new to the Android/smartphone world. A few questions:

• What are good sites for downloading apps?
• Do I have to worry about app reliability (viruses)?

Appbrain or Android market are the best places for downloads.

As for viruses, well I suppose it could happen but I've never heard of it.

I only ask about viruses because I got a Nokia C7 (Symbian) for my daughter last week and installed a music player on it today that:
1) Didn't install
2) Caused her default music player to stop working
So I had to take the phone back to the service provider for service. And I don't want to fry the SGS.

There are anti virus softwares out there for the sgs. I know McAfee do one.
