Does anyone have the problem of maybe once or twice a month, their Note 2 just powers off by itself. And long pressing the power button will not turn the phone on. I have to pull the battery and place it back in and it turns right back on. It's been happening to me the last few months. Still scares me every time it happens. Pulling the battery and placing it back in has worked every time but you still never know.

Trying to figure out if the battery somehow jars loose over time or what? Since it won't power back on after it turns off.

Trying to find the root of the problem. And it has happened before the 4.3 update and even after the update so I don't think it's that.

Data/factory reset would probably solve the problem if you can't find the application that's causing the problem.

This began with 4.3 for me. It's become the update I wish I never took.

Yeah I checked this thread but it seemed more for phones that were bricked and not turning back on at all, no matter what they did. Mine will turn back on after I remove the battery and place it back in.

Any way to go about troubleshooting the app? Most of my apps I have are well known. Nothing obscure that could have some bad coding or not tested very well that is not playing nice with my phone. Factory reset seems a little much for me as I would have to put the phone back together settings wise and get all the apps back to their current settings.

It has happened well before the 4.3 update for me. And even a few times after the update.

Thanks for this! I installed it and it said 'NO. Sane chip'. Going to assume that is a good thing, right?
