I have a Pantech Perception with and Android OS. Phone is not rooted. Had a battery that went dead so I replaced it as it would no longer hold a charge. This was about 3 weeks ago. For the last four days the phone will randomly turn off. I tried a hard reset, still kept turning off at random times. The battery icon will say it has a decent charge, and even when it is at 100% it does it. However, I discovered today that it doesn't do it when the phone is plugged into the charger. I have not added any new apps.
