Help Please help

Rooted 2.2.1 Intercept and worked fine. Worked great for first 2 months. Last night downloaded an app that was set to change my battery icon. Phone rebooted and got stuck at the virgin mobile Cartoon in the boot process. Tried resetting the phone. Tried factory wipe via reboot options, no luck. I have no idea what to do, i feel as if i need to reinstall and reset the phone to its original out of box software. But without access to anything... i dont know what to do
