Got my HTC desire couple of weeks ago,and have hadthis problem since .

Everytime I turn on my phone i get a new blank from anonymous that sits on my SD card;I know its on my SD card because there's a logo of an SD card on yhe text bubble.

Even if i delete it,it willreappear. Even if i try black list it will reappear.

The date of the texy message used to be consistently the same as well as the same time jntil today.

Where are texts held on the sd card ? Anyone else having this problem?

I had the same problem. It hasn't done it today though, not sure what has changed!

Are you using the default message app or handcent?

Are you sure it's not simply a draft message?

I have it. The date/time has changed though. It's always the exact date/time of a voicemail message or missed call. Look at your call history and see if it matches one. So I guess it's a bug in something which is trying to tell you about that.

Are you sure it's an SD card symbol? And not a SIM card symbol?

I had some messages on the sim card which reappeared (like yours) on all reboot. Just go to the stock 'messages' app - settings - manage SIM card messages

If they are on the sim, delete them using the messages app, handcent cannot do it

(I'm on orange UK too) I've deleted it. It was a sim message. But are they going to keep coming back? Am I going to recycle a missed call into a sim card message whenever I reboot my phone?

  9. Have the same on mine. messages>settings>manage SIM card messages shows Anonymous at 11:35am

But menu>delete messages does not delete it???

    Stuck

Update - sorted - had to press and hold message an then delete

That is odd! got acces to another phone perhaps? (would be great if it wasn't a smart phone) so you could pop in your sim card in there and delete it using the other phone.

Did not see your update, good thing it's fixed!

No normally it will not come back if you deleted it right, android does not store messages on the sim card.

I'd suggest trying a reboot and check if it still pops up, or even call yourself and speak in a voicemail to check if the problem is related.

But i do not think it is tied to the voicemail. There just happend to be a message on your sim

Just happened to happen, what, 3 times to me (*it happened again 5 mins ago) and to that other guy? Each time at the exact time of a voicemail message? No. Clearly there's a bug here. * I hung up on a caller this morning and they went onto voicemail. I just ran my battery down, and when I plugged it in, there it is - an anonymous message from 7.23 this morning on my sim card.

I keep getting this as well.

Deleting the sim message gets rid of it, not sure if it will come back though!

This happens to me too. Message marked as 'Anonymous' that shows the SIM logo. I'm using an HTC Hero on Orange. Every week or two I get one of these - it's rather annoying :)

    Has anyone found a solution?

Me too, on orange. Have been getting them for months now, no discernible pattern to them other than they seem to happen or are triggered once the phones turned on.

i am also getting this, (sorry to dig up an old thread)

I was wondering if there has been a permanent solution found?

I have done as suggested and deleted any sim messages. Hopefully it will solve it, as its quite annoying.

If you are on Orange, it is to do with the way Orange sends the notification to update the voicemail symbol.
I did an app to automatically delete the message from the SIM as it arrives. That way, you don't get to see it.

thats great, thank you for the clarification as to why this appears. I can now delete it myself knowing how it arrives.

Guess it means i should answer the phone!
