No,the PRL I used isn't the same as the one in the other guide. I used that one and it didn't work. Not sure if it has anything to do with it coming from an Optimus M or not.It will switch on its own when you get 3G signal. When I first did it I only had 1x and when I went to settings/about phone to see if the PRL changed it was still on 1x receiving 1x RTT then I watched the 3G icon pop up and my signal change to EvDo Rev. A and then a couple seconds later switched back to 1x. And then it would switched to 3G again and stayed on 3G for a good half hour or so. But then I couldnt get no data to go out. So I dont if its because 3G signal isnt that good where I live or if possibly its that PRL.
Rokyn- Did you use the PRL in the guide kevinrubio posted at top or did you find a completely different one? I might try that one out too since it was so easy to use.

To get 3G you have to be in one of the VERY few places that have it. The 3020 PRL only enables your phone to use 3G if it's available.Check my picture out, how come i dont have 3g?
When they (Metro) says 3G they mean 1x. The only places that will have 3G are where they have the towers enabled for 3G. Like someone else said, they're not going to advertise 3G because "officially" they do not offer it. They're only enabling 3G in a few areas where the congestion is the most heavy. Maybe in the future they'll add it elsewhere and up the speed but honestly I doubt it. I have a feeling Metro is going to focus entirely on 4G.take a look at this picture, at where coverage is at for 3G. BLUE=3G network PURPLE=Roaming![]()

Well,if your 1x data is working fine then the 3G will when you have it available. As for the read from phone part I'm not sure whether it makes a difference or not but if it worked for you that way and not before, then thats good. I just wish the 3G here in Dallas wasn't as capped as it is.I just forced this PRL and my data now works inbound and out bound. It hasnt switched over to 3g EvDo yet (probably because we have that hurricane coming up our coast and its pretty crappy out)
I did do something a little different this time tho. When I went into the roaming tab of QPST I clicked "Read phone" this time and in the fields it showed "MetroPcs" and my number and then I browsed the for the PRL and then clicked "Write to phone"
This is the same PRL that is in the guide kevinrubio posted at the top of the thread.

now i know there another person with the same situation lol, what type of network are you? mine is still 1xRTT
I've tried updating my Huawei Ascend's prl using the QPST trick and for some reason my phone wont show up as a port. I mean under device manager, I show it at the top listed under "Android Phone" and under it listed as "Android Composite ADB Interface". Nowhere else on the list is it listed and when I do click on the above mentioned properties it only gives "General, Driver, Details", under none of which I see the Advanced option anywhere, no com# or anything useful. I've installed with listed drivers in this same thread as well as using the ones on the phone after uninstallation. Under Ports I only have 4 ports listed, all of which are not the phone. The phone is running Metro Official 2.2 upgrade firmware, and the phone was rooted with Gingerbreak. Computer is Windows XP Professional and is up to date. Can someone please inform me as to how I can get the computer to recognize my phone under a port# please?

That map is flawed, My whole area is covered all of Detroit. Where do I find the 6 digit number again? Like is there an ap for that or something?
