Support (rooted) wireless tehther not woking

    Tried to connect a droid x but it wouldn't find my phone and I was using wireless tether....instructions in how or use it or a new app

    Also - if it's 2.2 you're running, I believe that the kernel has to allow for that.

    What rom/kernel are you using?

    Stock android cannot "see" ad hoc networks. They can create a ad hoc network for other devices to connect to, but Android devices themselves cannot see ad hoc networks.

    The good news is you can flash a new Wifi driver that will enable this. The bad news is I'm not sure the work is complete or tested on an Evo.

    The app posted above:

    broadcasts in infrastructure mode, not ad hoc.
