I'm looking at doing this process but i don't quite understand it yet properly.
I'd like my Galaxy S to:
1. Tasker App be able to change GPS settings.
2. Use my camera below 15% battery.
3. Record phone calls, with both audios and not just using the speaker phone.
and maybe:
4. Play MP4 files.
Is it correct i need to install a custom ROM to do these things?
Also do most of the ROMs, Darky, cyanogen etc support the things i want to do?
Ok, so i have 2.3.3 XXJVO installed from KIES to start with.
From what i have read it's a good idea to install ClockworkMod recovery first, before trying any custom ROMs. However i need to get rooted first?
Then i have no idea which ROM i actually want to install, all i can find info on is how to install specific ROMs? Not which ROM wouldbe best for my needs.
So the process as i understand it at the moment:
1. Get rooted
2. Put on Clockwork recovery
3. Flash my custom ROM
I must of been reading for the last 10 hours and my brain is fried.
I have tried to get root by using gingerbreak, however that did not work.
Any pointers, tutorials or help would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Sean
