Select email audible "check"," un check" sound turn off

How can I turn off the sound for "check","unchecked" sound in email? I know I can turn the media volume down but then next time I have listen to music and then work with my emails and then the stupid thing tells me audibly "CHECK" or "UNCHECKED"
