Help Self contact picture issues

Hi guys new to the forum and sorry if this sounds stupid.

I noticed when texting on my new Samsung Galaxy S that it shows next to messages from my contacts a picture of them from my phone book which is linked to my google account.

The problem is that nexgt to my messages it shows a grey box where I want to put a picture of me.

I have tried so far going into settings in my contact book. Creating a contact called Me in both my gmail account and on the phone. Also I have added a profile picture to my google+ profile and forced my phone to sync and still nothing.


Any ideas at all are appreciated, thanks

Don't name the contact "me", use your full name and make sure there is your mobile number listed as mobile and your gmail email address is listed (mine is set to "other" although I'm not sure it matters.) Also, I believe it must be a sync'ed Google address book contact.
