[Verizon] Removing Carrier Logo on Notification Bar on Galaxy Nexus (CDMA)

Hi all,

I've seen multiple posts in multiple forums about this but they all seem to be disorderly and link to one place or another and at the end, there's still no clearly defined, guaranteed method. Can someone please give me instructions on how to remove the Verizon Wireless from the notification bar on my Galaxy Nexus (CDMA/LTE)?
