Help Viewing PDF and ebooks on my HTC desire.

i have my desire and i downloaded a few free ebooks (PDF files) of the internet earlier and i transfered them to my Downlaods folder in my SD on the phone. Only thing is i cant find them any where to open them, Is it possible for someone to let me know where i am going wrong or if i am missing something out ?. cheers.
