what kind of htc hero do i have?

Sorry people I know this is a stupid question but I want to root my phone but there seems to be different methods of doing this depending on whether you have a Sprint, gsm, or cdma. (am I missing anything?) I don't know what these are but Sprint is a service provider so am assuming the others are too? I live in Canada and use MTS as my sp. Whose instructions do I follow? Is it still possible to root my phone if I'm not in one of those clubs? Thanks a lot people!

You have a CDMA (Sprint style) Hero. This is what they look like:

CDMA Left, GSM Right

To explain further, GSM and CDMA are two different types of mobile phone network. Sprint is just the most common form of CDMA Hero.
