I've owned the S4, HTC One, Note 2, and the iphone 5s all on Verizon. All were good phones with my favorite of the bunch being the HTC One.
S4 was extremely solid, with only gripe being the wifi and LTE signal strength. Super flimsy hardware was annoying but palatable when using a case.
Note 2 was great, but impossible to use one handed and I looked like a moron using it as a phone.
HTC One was the best of the group, loved the camera and IR remote, and Blink Feed was great for traveling and plane use.
iPhone 5s was my least favorite of the bunch, and I don't get wrapped up in the Android vs Apple fanboy-ism. Fingerprint scanner was fun for 2 days, battery life was OK, but I never had a smartphone screen freeze as often. Also, had serious issues with VVM like many others.
G2 us a fantastic all around phone, with superb battery life, and super smooth processor. IMO the best phone on the market Right NOW. 24 GB is plenty of onboard storage, especially if you utilize cloud storage for anything.
Read the user reviews on your carriers website. I would be surprised if the G2 wasn't the highest star rated phone.
