this seems to work for me
Root with Restore by Bin4ry v15
unzip contents and then run runme.bat to get started i choose normal type.

Now if i can only make a nandroid backup, I havnt had success getting recovery mode to show anyone know how?:hmmmm:

i have the ST21a2
android 4.0.4
build 11.0.A.1.8

Phone Software Version:
1261-1519_11.0.A.1.8 Generic-user

Rooting Status:
Bootloader unlock:Yes (this info can be found by dialing *#*#7378423#*#*)
