I have to admit, I'm amazed at how well this worked. I did what the TC said and thought it would have a minor effect, but I was wrong. To put things in perspective:
Normally, if I went to bed with my phone at 50% battery, I'd wake up 5 - 6 hours later with the phone buzzing saying I absolutely had to put it on the charger right now.
I killed those apps at around 3 pm yesterday. At that time, I'd say my battery was a shade over 50%, now it's almost 11 am and my battery is probably at about 35 - 40%. That's a huge difference.
Now of course we're talking about idle time here, since I haven't used my phone much at all during that time. So I'm sure it's not going to stop me from burning through batter during heavy usage, but the fact that I don't have to worry about my phone dying a quick death while it's just sitting there is wonderful.
